Personally, I like both but agree in terms of preference
ITV 4 have a nightly round up of the day's events starting at 7pm (for an hour) but it's also available on their player. I find this enjoyable as the thoughts of watching a full stage is hardly appealing.

Love le Tour, been over to watch it 6 / 7 times. I'm a pretty keen cyclist and was over there with a cycling club, climbed a fair few of the mountains and had a fantastic day on Dutch Corner, Alpe D'Huez on the last day, last year. Riding done, it was time to drink...and I had a few sticks too. Amazing athletes, a real spectacle.

I love the cycling, record the highlights in ITV 4 and tend bulk watch every few days to catch up. Also a keen rider although been out of the saddle for the last 12-14 months as I was advised not to over exert myself. But I miss it and might start gently over the summer.

Since I am not in Spain and I do not take naps, I dont follow the TOUR.
It has been the best sleeping pill, nice scenery to fall down.

Rob, that sounds class. I'd love to go over to Dutch corner and go up Alpe D'Huez (looks for more appealing than Mont Ventoux, IMHO) I'm also keen on the idea of doing a cycling holiday but think it's a couple of years off in terms of both fitness and just having the time.
Are you a club cyclist?

Jerry, it's a great feeling to get back into it (with medical approval, perhaps?), especially on a nice sunny day. Having a friend or two to ride with is also a pleasant way to do things.


Predictions on who will take the various jerseys?

Who will take what, good question. Froome possibly Yellow, Segan the Green, and I'm not sure about the rest until the big mountain stages are done. The big question is though, will Cav finish or drop out to try to get the coveted Olympic gold.

I'm a member of a club but don't get out as much as I used to unfortunately. I've done Alpe D'Huez a few times now and it's actually not a bad climb. There are a couple of steeper ramps but you can get a breather on the hairpins. Ventoux is a completely different beast, it's constant, steep and there's only one letup about 3/4 of the way up where you have a hundred yards of flat(ish).
Get yourself into a cycling club, you'll be amazed how quickly your form will improve. You might start off the back but you'll soon be sitting on someone's wheel and then doing a turn on the front. Dutch corner was something else it really was, fantastic atmosphere.

Got to fancy Froome, I think, he's an absolute machine. I like Quintana too, he's an amazing climber but he couldn't match Froome last year. No doubt the French will question his ability again, should he win, but he was shrewd last year making all of his data available for public scrutiny.

I think we all agree on Yellow and Green. It's hard to look past Sky and Froome though Quintana hasn't really done anything yet. I think his team just isn't as strong as Valverde seems to like doing his own thing from time to time.

Sagan definitely seems favourite after yesterday (I haven't seen today's result yet), gathering up the intermediate points without any real challenge from the others including Cav's teammate, Steve Cummings in the breakaway.

Yates does seems to be doing very well, especially after his inflatable crash the other day. I dont' know enough of the other young riders.

Don't know much about the Polka Dot this year either.
