Picked up a couple of Swiss Army Knifes

To this day i regret the loss, as a kid, of an inherited SAK from my grandfather... It was abig old multi blade multi tool one of everything jobby. How it fell out of a pocket i do not know... In woods i know backwards.... Spent the following ten years or more looking for it. Could still walk you blindfolded to the spot i realised i lost it... Some 30 yrs on! I do hope someone found it and still uses it and passes it on in their line....

partly why i now have oodles of knives and stuff my kids will get and give to theirs!!! From opinels to some fairly toppy sandviken steel handmade jobs!

I carry a Gerber Dime and a Byrd Rescue.

The blade on the Dime for opening packaging is particularly useful.

I've had since the mid 80's. My first job from leaving school was a mechanic & this was a promotional gift that came with a set of spanners I think.
Still in use, it could do with a bit of tlc though, as it has a chipped blade & the scissors have become quite loose.

I phoned the Tobacconist on Paisley who sells SAKSs, he said he has a box of "bits", hopefully I can pick up the tweezers and toothpicks and anything else required.

It's not something that I would know how to tackle Roy. I've Googled SAK repairs but, I can't find anything that I would be sure about.

I carry a Baladeo Papagayo folding knife all the time. It's surprisingly useful. I used to carry a single bladed aluminium SAK but, like so often happens, it fell out of my pocket somewhere and I never saw it again.

I've got an SAK with a locking blade but that's not legal to carry around so I tend to leave it at home. I'm always cautious with anything other than a sodbuster or SAK as the police don't take kindly to people carrying larger knives, even if they technically meet all the legal requirements. I know someone who had a Lansky World Legal Folder which got confiscated because it looked too aggressive.

I know the scales will pop off no problem, then you should be able to give the rivets a tap which might tighten up the scissors?
