Sorry for the moan, chaps, but I've had a rotten week.
First of all a gas leak has meant our flat has had no gas supply since Thursday afternoon and this is likely to last for up to another seven days, until scaffolding can be erected to allow access to install a brand new mains supply to our flat. No heating, no hot water and a general pisser of a situation.
Then, a problem presents itself with our car's DSG gearbox meaning we had to cancel our trip to the South Coast to help my parents move house.
And finally (I hope!), I was hit by a car on Friday whilst cycling to work. The driver turned right out of a car park, straight into me and took me clean out, hitting my front wheel, sending me up into the air and back down to earth with a bang. I spent all day yesterday at Kings College having x-rays on neck, spine, hands and knees and then further CT scan on neck as x-ray showed I've chipped a vertebrae. Fortunately it's not serious and won't affect mobility and I'm back home with wife and daughter, albeit in a fair bit of pain.
No idea how bad the bike is as I've no seen it since, but I suspect it'll need a fair bit of work, at least on the wheels. My helmet is a write-off - I've no doubt it prevented serious head trauma as it's split at the front and I've a decent bruise making it's presence known on my head and eye socket.
On the plus side, I won ?7.80 on the Euromillions last night, though his didn't even cover my prescription cost for painkillers!
Anyway, I'm going to enjoy a smoke tonight, I think I've earned it.
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekends, I am very happy to be in one piece
