The venue is highly regarded, and I certainly intend to visit at some point to experience a fantastic pub. However... I'm not entirely sure what the petition is actually for?
Back in the April issue of UK Cigar Scene we profiled the amazing The Prince of Wales Moseley the cigar friendly pub and so much more in Mosley Birmingham.
You can read it here https://www.joomag.com/mag/0024618001426623447?page=30 Now the pub is under threat and if you want The Prince to be there the next time you visit Birmingham please sign this petition. https://www.change.org/p/birmingham-moseley-help-save-the-prince-of-wales-in-moseley-8716dc7b-abfe-4fd1-b23e-edbef4475024?recruiter=398161008&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=autopublish&utm_term=mob-xs-share_petition-reason_msg
Still struggling to see what the petition is about? The flats aren't replacing the pub (unlike so many around the country), from what I can tell they're bringing potential new customers. It's a proper pub, not a nightclub, so doubt anyone will be able to exert much pressure on the council regarding licensing due to some new neighbours. Unless I'm missing something - which is what I'm trying to find out so that I can get behind the campaign properly.
Still struggling to see what the petition is about?
Basically the flats will be new build, probably as cheaply as possible with thin walls and no sound insulation. Then in time the new occupants will start complaining about noise from the pub, and rather than realising the pub has always made that noise, and that the main reason they can hear it is because they live in crap flats, they'll demand the pub be closed. Seemingly this is not an unheard of or unusual situation and so the Prince is trying to get their petition in first.
I signed it and for my trouble am being e-mail with dozens of other worthy causes .... Thank you Change.Org
