  • For anyone considering having tree work done.

    Evening Gents
Having just seen an episode of watchdog featuring a group of 'tree surgeons' fleecing an old lady I'm sat here fuming. Some of you already be aware that I run my own small tree surgery business, hence my reaction to this story.
The reason I bring this to your attention is I'd like to offer all you fine folks a bit of free advice, hopefully helping avoid any BOTL being stung. Just to be clear this isn't an appeal for work (if nothing else simple geography prohibits this). So if anyone is having any tree work done and isn't sure if the price is correct feel free to message me with a few pics and I will do my best to give a ball park figure (not a quote as that needs a site visit).
All I ask is for you not to tar all tree surgeons with the same brush, like every industry there are good and bad.

Very much a case of; if you think its expensive to hire a professional, wait until you hire an amateur...

I watched this too. Unbelievable how brazen they were going in the house and what a crap job they did.

And people were handing cash over! The BBC handing over ?2k of license payers money is another matter all together.

Thing is, from experience when I was with lancs Police and dealt with dodgy officials. Theres some pretty nasty sorts who's moral compas makes them pretty protective of the vulnerable.

They do this in the wrong place and to the wrong person and they will find their selves on the wrong side of much more serious criminals than themselves.

Strange fact but many higer level crims sort stuff like this out in their area before the police even get a chance. Especially when violence is involved agains said elderly person.
