That is outstanding and such dedication! My grandfather was a bee keeper and so was his... I don't have such an affinity, I've only ever been stung!

Congrats on the honey, it looks and I'd imagine it smells delicious. I really like the idea of keeping bees but it has never crossed my mind until reading this thread.

One question, I know honey is one of the only things that never goes off, but does age have an effect that you know of? That would be interesting.

im glad the post has been of interest , its my first year , im already planning hive no.2
raw honey will never go off , it may crystallise if kept in cool temps , putting in warm water will re liquefy , im told with age it may darken and lose flavour and aroma

I read about archaolegists eating honey that was at least 2000 years old from a tomb in Egypt once.

Edit: Oh and tinned sardines are surprisingly long lived. There's a museum in Norway that has tins over a hundred years old and someone ate one not too long ago to prove how viable it is as a survival food.
