Great stuff. I'd love to keep bees, one day. And if you have a spare jar for sale I would gladly buy one (and pay postage of course).

What a great thing to do, congrats on making it work Wolfie and yes you do deserve a cigar, a bloody big one ! And if there's a list for any spare jars you may have I'd like to put my name on it. You can't beat honey in your porridge. Let me know and I'll happily pay costs and postage.

Excellent work Wolfie. no one else mentioned it but as duty Safety officer, I couldn't help notice your PPE didn't stretch to gloves? I'd have though bee stings to the hands would be rather painful, although I know their supposed to help with arthritis. So did you get stung or are they really well behaved bees? I assume your friend is a more experienced chap, giving you a guiding hand? Essential I should think when starting up in this game.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

Good work wolfie, I have a colleague who is on his second year and second hive now, he is having great results. He did tell me that he had to shut himself in when he was extracting the honey as the bees will try anything to get it back, fun and games playing hide and seek from them I have done a deal with him to get some from him in exchange for some home brew. We did speak about making mead but it takes a lot of honey to make it, maybe I'll convince him in a couple of years when he has a few more hives.Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!
