Any fellow shooters on here? I just recently got back into Clays and have a few days wild fowling this season up here in the dark cold North of England. Had a few odd looks as I'm smoking whilst walking around. They look at me like I'm a health and safety hazard never mind theres loaded firearms about. Funny how people think.

I used to when I lived in Staffordshire, but when I moved up north I have found it hard to get into the right circles so can't get on any shoots or can't get any land.

I hadn't looked at fowling but might have a bash.

Where abouts do you go?

I'm a shooter too. Have my own permissions to shoot on, and also member of a decent syndicate with 75 bird days during the season.
I used to do a lot of vermin, woody's etc but don't bother much anymore. Mainly just the game season now.

Where up north are you based now Rasputin?

Another keen shooter here. So much so I set up a sporting agency and now sell shooting, arrange simulated game days, and offer consultation services to estates about their shoots, sporting rights, and conservation/agricultural strategies. (Siparium Sporting - if anyone's interested )

This does remind me that I said I'd look into a shooting herf a good few weeks back... Must get on that.

Another gun here. Mostly game... occassional clays... which is now the opposite to how I got started!! member of two self run syndicates.

Family are away so cutting rides and vermin shooting this weekend, with a decent stick on the go!

Sounds like an excellent weekend to me!

Sadly my PMs seem to have been disabled... (It would seem that way, as I don't have permission to PM you). Mods?

We have our vermin shooting straight after the season has finished
the whole of February then who wants to stay behind can do some pigeon shooting.

As per my intro post, not only am I a budget cigar smoker, I'm a budget shooter too

I shoot air rifles. My old man has permissions around Selby/Tadcaster areas for Rabbits, Woodies and Squirrels. Relatively new to the whole shooting game, game...only started this year.
Up until 4 or 5 years ago I played Airsoft on a regular basis, but that is just a game.

A few year ago I bought a Hatsan Mod55, supposed to be good for a budget rifle, but I soon got cheesed off with it not hitting what I pointed it at so it was left sat in the loft after having only 1 tin of pellets through it.
The back end of last year I picked up a BSA Supersport springer, the higher end of the market. The difference between the 2 was incredible, and the BSA was hitting where it was pointing more often than not.

I have now got an Air Arms S200 PCP, a fantastic rifle, although the pull is short. PCP's are just too easy to shoot. Down at the range it hits what I point at 100% of the time. Out in the field I hit what I point at about 75% of the time, but I'm still learning, judging ranges, wind and other variables etc.
Now I need to learn a bit of field craft too, and learn how to get these critters to the table
