Coulden't believe it today came across this dray double the size they normaly are 5 buggers in there
shot 3 next person next to me shot another 2 big buggers they were too.
Would work johnny with air rifles you be there all day.
What we do on our shoot on vermin days is depending on the number of guns we a split into 2 groups
one group stands while the other group walks through the woods then the other way round .
Any drays we see gets shot sometimes they are empty sometimes you might get one at home
yesterday I came across one that had 5 in there
when they jump out and start jumping from branch to branch an air rifle woulden't work
the other thing is if a fox got up waste of time doing anything with an air rifle
we are giving by the gamekeeper a handful of ssg cartridges each should we come across a fox
should a fox take off in the wood there is the standing guns waiting
these foxes live on their wits even with walking guns and standing guns they sometimes still get away very sly as they say.
3 made their escape yesterday where they went is anyones guess we think they went to ground in the wood.
If you have the time, know a decent 'run', and have the patience, then i reckon air rifling can be fun. Otherwise i favour greatervamounts of lead in the air!

Only 8 guns could make it yesterday for another vermin shoot 4 foxes were seen but none shot talk about being crafty
there again such a vast area of woods they can easily make their get away
to properly keep on top of them we realy need 2 groups of say 12 guns to cover more area.
Ended the day with 31 squirrels , next saturday will be our last one hope we get one or two Charlie's.
It sure is emaresee good laugh from the minute we set off till the end.
Get to shoot the woodie's as well whoever wants to stay behind set off in different directions
that way we keep them flying to different parts of the woods and we all get a few shots when they come in to roost
at the moment they are feeding on the rape fields and their crops are bulging.
Well today was our last vermin shoot which went realy well.
Todays bag was 43 squirrels and 2 foxes one shot by the keeper the other my son.
Total number of squirrels after 4 weekends 143
