Looks like we have another ban on the horizon .

A traditional village pub is set to ban dogs entirely after a string of antisocial incidents ? leaving pet owners up in arms

A few pubs may follow to ban dogs.

I'm no longer a dog owner used to have lurchers for many many years
but what I don't get is why would anyone going to the pub for a pint or maybe more
      take their dog with them.
I can understand your coming back from a walk with your dog you fancy a pint
what I would do is order a drink and have it in the pub garden
not inside where there is food being served and people eating.

@TonyN We take our dog for a walk along the canal & surrounding area. The pub we use is ideally placed for a pit stop for us & the dog!
The pub is also dog friendly, it has numerous water bowls with an outside tap too, so that the dog has a cold refreshing drink too.
During the summer it has been a haven for me to have a nice pint & a nice cigar! Knowing that the dog has had a good walk.

In the local in the village I grew up in, the dogs are often as well known as the owners.... Though people keep them under control in my experience.

Times change I'm afraid of people going to their local with their flatcaps and whippets
ordering a pint and smoking their pipe while the dog lays under the table.

Country pubs are for country people which means dogs , if the new so called I've moved to the country side but won't get involved with the local village people don't like it they should fuck off back to the town

Our local will only let dogs into the bar / snug area. Not where the food section is. Outside is expected, especially during the nice weather

You make a good point oskihen
What you say reminds me of a couple that moved to a village, within 6 months they started complaining about a few nearby cockrells
waking them up too early and church bell ringing.
Like you said why move into a village if you don't like church bells and cockrells.

Hear hear! Of course, the owner of a misbehaved dog should be asked to remove said dog (as should the owners of misbehaved children - who obviously wouldn't be at the bar anyway). All of our local pubs are full of people with their dogs (mostly working dogs that are incredibly well behaved). The landlord did ask someone to leave a couple of months back - after they had complained about the dogs... He probably complained about the muck spreading too...
