  • Good films that may have slipped under the radar

    Witchfinder General
    Starring Vincent Price.
    Its a classic.

I like films that dont comply to the action/popular genre.
So if you know of any offbeat or budget films including world cinema that you think are worth a watch, stick em here.

The Mist by Frank Darabont. One of the most non-Hollywood endings ever. Try to see the black & white version if you can....it's kinda like a 50's B-Movie

Business in the front. Party in the back.

        Films under the radar...

One Hour Photo starring Robin Williams seems to be fairly unknown. There was a little bit of murmering when it came out because together with Insomnia it formed a duo of films starring Williams in roles that he wouldn't normally be associated with. It's a really well made film and Williams pulls it off. This reminds me that it has been a while since I watched it, so must dust off the DVD box in the near future.

There are too many great little-known movies. I hated that Witchfinder General, so probably my tastes won't coincide with yours

The least known out of my favourite movies are probably 'The Internecine Project' (1974) with James Coburn, and 'Beyond a Reasonable Doubt' (1956) with Dana Andrews. The latter is probably available free online as it's in the public domain now I think.

My credit card company is going to enjoy this more than I will!!

MM fantastic loved that film, I also like most of the Hammer horror series good UK films with Vincent Price, Chris Lee, Peter Cushing etc. I also like the Carry on films they are all great british films good english humour, that we cannot repeat nowa days, I for one never get fed up of watching them.

Not an oldie but a great one.

The Gathering Storm. Albert finney as churchill, with a great guest appearance from Ronnie Barker as the butler which sadly was one of his last.

Currently going to look at the gathering, see if its downloadable, keep em coming.
Oh, there was a film I part watched [about 20 minutes] about a year ago called the league of gentlemen, not available to download im afraid, black and white film about a group of fed up WW2 veterans who decide to start doing armed blaggs, it looked brilliant but cant get the film.

In Bruges, released one or two years back, and did not do too well in the box office, as far as I can remember.

One of my favourite films, and it goes much much deeper than on the surface.

Basically, two hitmen - an old experienced one and a young learner - go to Bruges to await orders from the boss. The young one has done a bodge job operation, and the boss wants the old one to bump off the young learner.

But the old one has a heart of gold, and wants the learner to have a second chance! Ironic when you think about the job they're in!

Definitely a favourite of mine, and I'm gonna check out your suggestions, chaps, on the old amazon account!

So amny cracking films over the years, I can never remember them. Ray Winston as Seriesteve says in Sexy Beast is great and I think it was Love,Honour Obey is a cracking humorous film with Ray in it and most of the crew from the series Operation Good guys which is awesome when on their level of sense of humour. One of my fav's is a drama/film with Gary Oldman in The Firm. So many good uns' you could go on and on.
