  • Storing Individual Sticks Economically

    Hi Gentlemen.

I'm currently creating a wish list of sticks in preparation for my return to academic decadence in a couple of months' time.

I will be purchasing a medium number of individual sticks, mainly CCs that I have been reading up on / reading your reviews of, as well as a few Dominicans.

Just a quick question, then. Does anyone have any suggestions for a mini storage unit / travel humidor that is sufficient value for money? It only needs to hold ten or thereabouts at any one time.

And also -- what is the life expectancy of a stick such as the Siglo IV when not stored in a professional unit?

Many thanks for the help - a novice like myself needs all the help he can get.

    Best, deltawhisky

    What sort of price?

With most of the 'travel' style humidors it seems cheaper to buy a small desktop humi - I got one for a little under ?50 from CGars which has kept my stock in top condition for about six months now, the humidity stays pretty good for a week or more before more solution is needed and it's shown no signs of slowing down.

If you're penny pinching, you could always go for a humijar.

        Hi Gentlemen.

Thanks for the help. HabanoSY, the offer is a fantastic one, especially mahogany - and indeed if I need to store larger numbers in the near future, I will definitely get in contact.

Really, I'm in need of smaller numbers. Usually, I make a fortnightly trip to the local tobacconists, and buy more as I get through them.

I'll check humijars out - and will have a look round on CGars.

        Thanks for the help.

With the box splits and deals on offer here go for the bigger one. In a few months you'll be kicking yourself. I only started a year ago and now have a 300 stick humi, although I don't have a travel humi........ yet !

As said before you can get a humijar in any household store ie biscuit jar with the sprung sealed lid thingy. Better look on the bay for ?20. simple'.

Yeah Delta, go for anything between a twenty-fifty stick desktop mate. From the sounds of thiings, you're smoking fairly regularly and anything smaller will not be cost effective in the mid to long term. Check the bay

I agree completely, I made that mistake myself and ended up forking out for a bigger one.

True, I see what you mean. But the previous post rings home as well - soon enough I might well need a bigger box! Cheers for the help guys.
