In tank warfare visual range of 6000m is good, but unfortunately well within the conventional AP range of the Rhinemetal gun, and if that wasn't bad enough, that smooth bore gun has a little trick, it can fire radar guided rocket ammunition with a kill distance of 8700m. And it's not a good idea to be pointing front in this confrontation, Iraqi infantry found a weak spot, your front under armour can be penetrated by an RPG.

Longest recorded Tank on tank Kill with a smooth bore is an Abrams and they were considered effective to around 4000m.

The Abrams uses a licensed copy of the Rhinemetal from the Leopard, I'm not saying it isn't feasible but as far as I can tell it's never been confirmed in active warfare where the 5100m kill of the Challenger that PJ alluded to has... I will take a 1000m further kill confirmation and better fuel efficiency.... Seriously, the challenger may be slower in a straight line but it will keep chugging when the others give out for lack of fuel. It's also arguably the best at manoeuvring in the rough.

All good tanks though.... As is the South Korean K2.

No, not enough room and don't hold the same interest. My grandfather was a tank driver in the war.
