Been threating to back to vinyl for some time. Basically I just don't like change and the modern world generally pisses me off. Anyone got any tips before I dive in.
Not planning an spending a fortune, just want a setup for less than 200 quid and want one that puts the arm on itself.

Yes mate it's on a fixed rail in the lid so you can select certain tracks repeat, random etc

Go old Wiggers. EBay for an old deck, amp and speakers. It's all built to last and can be had cheap enough! I got rid of my spare turntable and amp set up a few months back which would have been perfect for you! I still have a set of Wharfdale speakers if you need them.

Here's my current setup which is a Rotel RP-3000 direct drive turntable and RX-505 amp with a pair of '71 kef chorale speakers (still with the original service lables in!). Can't beat vinyl mate. It's not just the sound but the who ritual of playing them!

Got me thinking about my old Thorens deck up in the attic. It's been a few years since that saw some action

Aye that set up looks great. I am happy to start with an all in one unit and if I take to then get something a bit more serious. After a bit of a look I can get what I am after for well under budget. Wanted to do it for ages but always figure I would get up knackering it when I had had a few but seeing as I have all but knocked the drinking on the head should be a goer

Good man! I'd advise against one of those all in one jobbys though. You'll get an older 'seperates' setup for similar money and it will sound infinitely better and last longer! Plus those cheap all in one things can ruin your records more than you would if you'd had a skin full!

I go through mine every now and then , there certainly is a unique feel to vinyl and the covers are fantastic
