On a slightly lighter note, " the super furry animals " and " the happy mondays " are bang on.
I remember getting thrown out of "the farm "gig many years ago and the lead singer saying on mike as I and a fellow raver was frog marched past the stage ( the fukin mad heads are on patrol )
I remember looking down at the swelling festival crowd from the view of the band at stage level and thinking " shit, this is what it must feel like to be famous man "
Oh golden years, where av u gone !If..

Ah, Nick Drake, so talented and so dead.....He had a unique voice. Almost childlike but very melancholy...No man has the right to fix the boundary of a nation.
No man has the right to say to his country, "Thus far shalt thou go and no further."

Mate.
There are so many.
I can listen to the first three or four tracks on Golden Greats on repeat forever.
Corpses gives me a shiver down my spine EVERY time I listen to it. For me, a lot of this is about the KEY being sweet as well as I have pitch.
I adore F.E.A.R for lots of reasons. I love strings in rock-y stuff and this is in Bitter Sweet Symphony (?) territory.
It's difficult to pick out a favourite track. He is a lucky man with Aziz on guitar and that guy on tabla and percussion. A great mix.
I bought the last CD a few months back and unfortunately to my ears it's not much cop.
I would like to be a fuck-you Cockney boy instead of who I am because my Dad was.
Then I'd like to be a swaggering Manc and be all monkey-like like Ian Brown.Last edited by Robusto; 16-07-2009, 07:27 AM.

You have NO IDEA how happy you have just made my lady. She is a Thom Yorke OBSESSIVE. I cannot introduce the concept of "that's not much cop" without suffering for it.
I joke.
She just loves him and Radiohead.
I had two friends at Latitude with strict orders to come back with a photo or clip of Thomas The Porke to please my missus, and you have done it! They were too far away.
Did you take these? Or where they off YouTube?
There seems to be a significant cigar smoke drift, and some French babbling.
I do love the whole of The Eraser. And I do like his time at the piano. His singing is great and wail-free on The Eraser up there.
Drewmidorn and I met up for a couple of days this week and talked quite a bit about Radiohead. What we like. What we don't.
We both like The Bends more than anything else.
Anyway - Thank you for posting these Yorke clips.
Were you at Latitude as a punter or playing also?
My friends had a wild ball and loved it!

ive found mp3 bootlegs of the whole show if you want a present for your lady!
there were a huge number of people filming and taking shots down the front.
fave radiohead albums; hail to the thief, i might be wrong (live set), in rainbows, ok computer.
if it had to be one album id say ok computer.
the more they go on the more i find the melodies so special. (and love the wailing )such gems in rainbows and hail.
played latitude on thursday night in a nicely packed out film and music tent as patti plinko and her boy. then had a ball the rest of the time.
very nice festival, cleanest, least druggy, politest.
fantastic load of theatre, comedy and literature.
many more cigar smokers than glastonbury! enjoyed an aged party p2 with one guy

Can you email the mp3s to ek1band@googlemail.com, please?
We are doing a 'legitimate' fee-paying gig with full PA and lights and mixer and all quite soon. I can't wait, but I'd love to play somewhere like Latitude or some such festival.
You lucky thing!
I like Amnesiac and Hail To The Thief as well as The Bends.
Glad there were appreciative cigar men around at such an event. It tells you something, doesn't it?!

Good man!
I've downloaded it to my laptop and forwarded it to my lady who is at work.
I'd love that festival list, if you don't mind.
Have ordered my back bedroom into a working space and have come up with an idea for a song today. I learnt loads from Dorn up the A14!Last edited by Robusto; 23-07-2009, 02:58 PM.
