Moving House

Living in our second house now. I can not see us moving again.
Our move went really smooth. We were fortunate that our first house sold on the day we put it up.
The house we live in now, was owned by someone who was moving abroad which meant we were
not stuck in a chain. It was about 15 years ago, but if I remember correctly, it was all done in about
8-10 weeks.

House sales in my area are mental at the moment. My eldest son is looking to move and the two nicest houses he wanted to view had a waiting list just for a viewing. My next door neighbour put his house up for sale last month and they had offers of the full asking price from the first two viewings so cancelled the other twenty.

Apparently house prices are going to rocket by 40% where I live when Cross Rail is completed, not sure how much I believe that but I'm hoping there will be a bit of a jump so we can move to a house

I think people hope to get a bigger house straight away ready for when they start a family, our flat is big enough for the two of us and our daughter as well (at the moment at least) but I am worried about when she start to grow and hopefully we have more children as it will start to feel small then and with my wife either not working or working part time I'm not sure how much of a mortgage we'd be able to get

Also - although buying a house is a nightmare, it is completely worth it the moment you move in

If you can afford to move now sheppsea i'd make the move, older you get the the harder it is to get a mortgage
last thing you want is paying a mortgage when your in your 70s.

I'm not in a rush - I'm still in my 20s (until August at least) so we have a bit of time yet

I agree about the room sizes. Ours is an end of terrace newish build (2009) and the 3rd bedroom is tiny, an office room is all its really good for!

Luckily the living room is a good size and theres Little Havana in the garden for me to smoke in with peace and quiet!

But this is certainly the most stressful thing I've ever done! Already told the fiancee, Not moving for at least 15 years now!!

Im am looking at a new house to move to. Well my first house as only had flats before and got to say more then a bit nervous about it

So much to do before you even move.
Post office to redirect your mail
Bt tell them your new address to reconnect you
gas board to disconnect you
electric same think
water board same thing

Then when you finaly move comes the decorating etc 9 times out of 10 our other half won't be happy the way the whole house looks.
