  • Anyone work on Wind turbines?

Just a quick question, anyone work on wind turbines?

Just been for an interview for a wind turbine service tech and was just wondering if anyone was in the field and I could pick their brain a bit. Thanks

If they're in the field mate they won't hear you because of those noisy bl**dy wind turbines!

I've done the foundation installation for offshore turbines, but I guess this job is more electronic/mechanical servicing of the top sides?

Who's the job for out of interest? Is it for Teesside Offshore Wind?

Its working for a contracting company as a travelling technician so no firm base. Would love a permanent teesside position but sadly not.

Yeah I've worked in offshore wind for about 5 years, worked in various capacities on many UK and European sites, give me a shout if you have any questions.

Who you working for at the moment rascal?, I'm waiting to hear about a few Client Rep jobs with Ibedrola, Dong and Siemans. Pretty quiet at the moment though.

You tried Van Oord Krist? They called me a couple of months ago about a superintendent job for the Gemini OWF. They had a few different positions

Wouldn't mind getting into client repping myself. Easy life compared to being subby.

Yahi have my CV with them for more of the subsea cable engineering but apparently I was overqualified! Ridiculous state of affairs when building OWFs. I generally go for the PM/Client Rep/subsea engineer positions. Gemini is a good one to go for if you get in. I guess I'll give them a call again come Monday.

You working at the moment? I've had 3 months off and it's the longest I've been out of work.
