Ross, the way I see it there are two possibilities here.

1: You are out to screw people over.... We don't want that.

2: You have an intense knack of alienating, offending or driving away the people who end up having closer contact with you.... We don't want that.

Honstly at this point I don't actually care which is the case, but something has to change. I'm not one for mincing words and back talking so here we are.

Think of me what you will, but things can't continue the way they were going.

Right. Time to clear something up. I am being openly criticised, when I have done nothing wrong. In fact, quite the opposite.

Firstly, I bombed Ross - he said his lighter was broken, so I sent him one and a stick as a companion.
This is what happened with the proposed trade between Ross and I.
The trade in question was for a 4 pack of AF King T tubos - He'd told me where they were from and that they were $40 a pack (they're $26) - They weren't available at this time from the retailer in question, so I couldn't check.
I asked him what he would like to trade from a list I gave him - he picked out $70 worth of sticks!
I pointed this out and he said -ah, but I'm also going to send you one of these - a genios (worth about $10) - I said no, as I don't like Cohiba.
I offered $40 worth of sticks and he agreed.
I couldn't get to the post office that day, so didn't post them.
The next day I was browsing around before going out and I found the true price.
Given how much he'd been hardballing me, I was disappointed.
I sent him a very civil message, requesting that we cancel the trade and told him if he had already sent them I would send them back.
He asked why, so I told him - he didn't see the problem and said I'd agreed to the trade. - It wasn't until Tommy and I had totally cut him off that he actually apologised.

The price difference was only $14. The money didn't matter. It was his tough negotiating, followed by his genuine inability to see that he'd done anything wrong.


After I had cancelled the trade, I changed the label on the package and sent it special delivery to Tommy as a bomb instead.

For me, it's not about the money - it's about the spirit of BOTL - it's about not being taken advantage of and being able to trust the people you associate with.

Ross , in the end mate this is a public forum made up of a lot of very genuine people discussing a common interest and chewing the fat over life in general, I'm a no nonsense kind of fella and don't suffer fools gladly and will call a spade a spade .
I feel with regards to you Ross you don't seem do yourself any favours, as I said earlier i was surprised when you came back and thought you might of kept your head down for a bit.
We all only really know each other from the impression we give on here , I know you keep repeating about your affluent lifestyle good for you that you don't need the money, but you also seem infatuated with trading .
As opposed to waiting again for pms you have been trading again 'on the side' .
If you looked at it from an outsiders point of view don't you feel your behaviour is somewhat contradictory .

Ok so I've been watching this thread all afternoon and thought I'd add my thoughts. Ross I've had no dealings at all with you and haven't been slighted by you so have no axe to grind.
It seems to me if one or two people don't like another it can simply be put down to a personality clash or 'things not reading well over the internet'. You though seem to have a rare talent as you have upset or angered at a minimum of 6 forum regulars . You have been here ten minutes, it started badly ,you apologised, made a fresh start, we're given chances, you got in another fight which got you banned once for throwing mud and now today. In times gone by as a gentleman you would have been given a bottle of whisky and a revolver, however given your previous conduct I'd expect you to drink the whisky and come out shooting.
In every aspect of life there are things and places we just don't suit, be it jobs, relationships or even internet forums. I don't believe you fit here Ross. I don't think you will ever be given another chance by the members who have been around longer than you so my honest advice to you is to walk with any dignity you have left. Thank you for your better contributions and (hopefully) goodbye .

Still no real answer to the question that has been asked several times. If you are so new to the game why are you in it so deep.

Also to justify your your price errors by saying it's only ?17 is no defence. Just because you can afford to pay over the odds some members may not.
