So I have just noticed that cigars in my humi dont have that strong aroma they had when they where in there original boxes. They smoke and taste fine. But that aroma you get when you open a box of cigars is gone. Is this normal or is something wrong?

Rub some vaseline on the feet of your cigars to seal the flavours in. Then wrap them in aluminium foil and keep them underwater for 5 days.Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

Almost every cigar I've ever bought regardless of retailer has been massively overhumidified: we buyers like squeezy cigars [emoji3] I've always found cigars from French retailers, particularly Parisian, to be quite 'wet'. Wet cigars IMO always give off loads of aroma but when they dry out to normal humidor conditions, the aroma is less intense. I imagine they'll be just as tasty when you spark them up. I bought a box of Sanchos that when pinched actually met in the middle. 12 months later they're quite firm and a lot of aroma had gone but they're still great

I've noticed over humidification in Spain and I know Monks has highlighted that he's known the same in Italian LCDHs. Whether the same applies to other countries or stock would be an interesting question.
