Scotland nope any salt water fishing does not need a license or any fee

No you don't need a rod license to sea fish in England off beaches piers etc you will only need a license to catch migratory trout and salmon , good luck off the south coast lol , but sea fishing in estuaries eg the Thames will be covered by your standard fishing license

No such thing in scotland when fishing. If you are fishing rivers you may need to pay who ever owns it but thats why all sea water is fair game along with sea water lochs.

Dont really know, not much of a fisher though do have a colleague who does a lot of sea fishing in scotland and talks far too much about it.

Been fishing for 25 years and somehow never realised that you didn't need a Rod license for the sea.

Probably not surprising given that about 98% of my fishing is fresh water though!

perhaps we should arrange a Scottish Loch herf/Pike session?

Just 'caught' (like the pun? Huh huh?) up with this thread again, been sea fishing for the past 25 years, never known of a sea fishing rod license. Only piers normally charge a small fee for each rod.

Carp fishing is gaining popularity in Scotland, but they are way behind England with lakes, fish stocks and sizes.
I am pretty sure we will see massive developments over the coming years.

Carp fishing can be done on a 'cheap' budget. But it still cost a fair amount to get all the required kit together.
It is easy to get into Wigan. There are literally hundreds, and probably thousands, of carp fisheries in England now.
