Ok yesterday I did the floor sections frame, I've realised that I need more wood now so that's a bummer, more cost.

Well read Mo! It's the frame for the floor of my shack. It will have OSB on both faces with insulation between. All will become clear as the build progresses old chap.

Great idea Tommy, if you can get the cost of the build & the time of the build down after a couple of builds, I am sure there would be widespread interest for insulated & dble glazed man sheds all over this unhappy smoke free land

Groundwork would be an issue Simon, Tommy is erecting onto concrete.

Presumably you could build onto a wooden frame with piles into the ground?

I wouldn't put your piles on the ground undercover you'll make them worse, atleast get a cushion.

                        Tommy's Shack Build

I'm actually going to pop it in nine slabs rather than a concrete base to save money and keep it off the ground. Initially concrete slab was the plan as with my other tool shed but after some thinking nine slabs seems better for this build.
The groundwork is the bit I have the least trouble with though. Let's see how it goes, I've promised to do some stuff for another friend after this is done. If it goes well![emoji16]

I am watching this with great interest.
I am already having ideas about converting my outbuilding to a gym with smoking lounge.
Is that a contradiction of terms?

Kinda sounds wrong but why not.

                              Tommy's Shack Build

Very interested in this build. I am looking at the same idea for home. I currently use the spare room as a home office but my daughter is at the age when her baby brother is soooooooooo annoying and she needs her own room (for the record she is almost 9 but going on 25).
The plan is a standard shed with insulation and pvc windows/door.
It will be my office and smoking area, main reason I don't smoke many sticks these days is I don't smoke indoors, personal choice enforced by her good self.
Any points or tips I should look out for tommy.
