I have a Gaggia but tend to use my Aeropress instead as it produces better coffee despite costing about ?150 less [emoji21]

i have a tassimo, if you like lots of different drinks its the best choice, i like the oreo hot choclate and iced coffees, if you just like coffee then the nespresso is the way to go.

Don't get me wrong - I love coffee from beans...
I get a delivery from Pact once a week and thoroughly enjoy it.
However, I hate it sometimes I just want a quick decent coffee without fart arsing around - and that's where the machine comes in...

Nespresso is in its own class. Had a Tassimo and binned it (Gave It to my parents.) when I got the Nespresso.
Just get the cheapest Nespresso you can get as they all effectively do the same thing IMO.

Aldi get a Milk frothed in for about ?16 now and then and it lasted longer than my mates Aeromiboby. Both my Brother in Law and I use our lots over the last 3 years and they are going stong. I also have the old Krups model.

Not as good as what you can do with a serious (See ?500+ espresso machine, ?100+ Grinder and a good local roaster.) setup, but bloody brilliant when you consider I sometimes find capsules at the back of the cupboard that are over a year old and they make coffee as good as the day I bought them.

I've just got a simple French press. I've used stove top espressos in the past, but have lost them over the years. I might, after being a little inspired here, look out for a grinder. Any suggestions of a unit that is considered half decent but inexpensive would be interesting

Nespresso here, throws out a reasonably alright espresso reliably, with no faffing about or washing up, at about 45 seconds notice. For convenience it's pretty hard to beat.

We had a Tassimo. I'm not really a fan and most of the drinks it makes that I did like, could be made properly with less faffing than using the machine.

I tried a cheap hand grinder a few years ago and found the consistency of the grind shocking. Every review I read suggested you had to pay millions for a good grinder.

What I will do next is get an ebay special on a professional burr grinder from a closed down cafe or something. They pop up for ?40-60 and are worlds better than the crap that gets sold as consumer models. IMO

I use a DeLonghi blade grinder that I got years ago and while it does a job, it's really just a glorified pepper mill and the grind changes with the wind. I also have an old German hand crank wooden jobby which is better but isn't the quickest.

I have a Hario hand grinder with ceramic burrs.

If you don't mind the manual labour and time involved the results are excellent although it will take a few attempts to get the best out of it.

Not at all but the second hand commercial models are out because they focus on espresso exclusively.

                                french press/ pourover/ syphon:

                                espresso entry level:

Coffee grinders from home use, domestic models and commercial trade equipment Fiorenzato, Iberital machines. Buy from Happy Donkey suppliers since 2004.

                                High end espresso

something that will do everything reasonably well

                                would be my sugestions
