Must get to Cuba before the sanitising from the US kicks in.....Maui was enjoyable and then another trip to Honolulu was just like being on the US mainland.....
been looking at them myself on Amazon , give us your thoughts on them when youve had a look
appreciated
Paul.
This arrived this morning and its ok , though to be fair I do not have a comparison unlike say books on war and planes which I have 7 bookcases of . Its short , I have already read it . The first 5 pages contain a timeline about Cuba , the USA car industry from 1948-1965 etc , not very in depth though . Next comes pictures of American Classic cars ( pages 17-108 ) and obviously the books main feature . Just the type and year of the cars though , sometimes where they were photographed . Pages 109-124 are about European classics , 125-144 are about Havana Sights and City Lights which is again mainly photos though the pages have about 3-4 lines of text . As to Cigars well there are about 7 pictures of locals smoking them and that is it . Nowhere near as good as his plane books but ok for someone like me , I have identified the cars I traveled in and for ? 12.50 delivered off the bay it gave me a Cuban shot of nostalgia . I think I will get the one you recommended now .
Going to ask thsi question on here as a couple of books have already been included on the thread . Is there a ' bible ' for cigar knowledge or is it a case of a number of books covering various topics . I am looking for a book about cigars , storage , boxes , codes etc . in general and perhaps a more specific Cuban orientated one to cover what I already have .
'The World of the Habanos' is a good start but not cheap at around ?27.99. It does however include a DVD and the rather nice gauge I pictured in another thread this evening.
