A Cuban cigar guide for Americans

What will be, will be There's a few threads on here hitting this from a few angles and whilst I haven't chipped in, the Cubans have an established market and that in all honesty includes the US already to some extent (secondary sales and routes in I'm sure) Whoever really wants a Cuban cigar in the US already gets them I reckon. What we may see is the average Joe getting all sweaty over the forbidden fruit, taking a punt (assuming sales get legalised in the future) and a fair proportion being underwhelmed and disproportionately out of pocket in terms of what he used to spend at his B&M or US based etailer ( and not necessarily getting a heap of promo deals, sticks, lighters T shirts et al) Cubans cigars are not going to come down in price. The other thing may be palate: average Joe isn't going to spend up and over what he is used to putting out, just so that he can try and retrain his taste buds. This is all, of course, a quick hypothesis and by no means based on my understanding of the dynamics or politics of the overall situation. Some may say, it's a crock of..."Go you good things...geddem int'ya"

Hopefully the quality will not suffer. After reading the interview with Castro in Cigar Afficionado it sounds like he supports the idea of quality over quantity.
What's to say that the Cubans don't already have a huge stockpile that they will release in a controlled way to feed the initial spike in sales?
It may also mean that there will be a large quantity of aged stock readily available..

Also in the same interview it seems he is so disconnected from the cigar companies that he didn't recognise a Cohiba and had never heard of a Trinidad.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

When my friend was in Hong Kong recently they worked out at ?8.20, that equates to $12.70 so they will surely be cheaper still in Cuba.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14
