Just watched 'Mortal Engines' this afternoon and it was really good despite what you might have read. If you like Star Wars and steam punk then you'll find a lot to enjoy and more than a few comparisons but what the heck.

Sound good. I've got that on my to-do list so I'll bump it up to the top and watch it this weekend

Watched another good movie today but Lisbeth Salander has turned into a bit of a super spy. Still very watchable and felt suitably Swedish, perhaps Hookmaker and give an opinion on that!
Been having a bit of a movie catch up recently and the one I've enjoyed most has to be 'Hunter Killer'. A preposterous idea of a team of Navy SEALs and a submarine rescuing the Russian president from a rogue minister who is trying to start World War 3. Non stop action and some genuine tension makes this film very watchable especially if you like military action movies.
Today's showing was 'Bad times at the El Royale'. Sometimes a bit of a homage to Tarantino I thought but always good all the way through. John Hamm and Jeff Bridges were great and Dakota Johnson a pleasure to watch. Jeff Bridges has got great hair.
Two drunk parents attempt to hide their ever increasing financial difficulties from their daughter and social circle through elaborate neighborhood schemes.
Stars: Alec Baldwin, Salma Hayek....
Trailer looked like a well cast comedy. perfect after a long sunny day relaxing with a few drinks.
please trust me and do not watch this movie! unless as a kid you enjoyed watching Donald duck trying to get out of that deck chair!
I watched the series first... it's just better. I couldn't finish it as I knew the outcome and it felt like a waste. It was a shame as I thought it started strong... and some of the action from the film is kinda 'honoured' in the series ... but when the chap in the lemon tracksuit and the skinhead start dancing around/ on top of the container units it all got a bit too unnecessarily cinematic for me...
