Blade of the Immortal was tonights watch.
Absolutely superb Samurai style movie. Pure blood and guts.
It just happens to have a great storyline to accompany the butchery.
A couple of nights back I watched 'Detroit'. A really gritty, hard hitting story based on an actual event in the 60's.
I thought it was an absolutely superb movie.

Last night I watched 'The Dinner'. Bag of shite.
Good news, I've got Detroit on DVD in my cupboard to watch
I had noticed 'My name is Lenny' on there but for some reason I didn't fancy it.
I decided to give it a go last night and was really surprised by it.
It is certainly brutal, pulling no punches so to speak. It manages to tell the story of how
Lenny became the monster without glorifying or justifying it. Very good movie. Worth a watch.
My second instalment was 'The Foreigner'. One of JC's better movies of late. Even though he is certainly
cracking on a bit now, he still managed some decent action scenes. Story wise, is is pretty thin and predictable
but enjoyable all the same.
I watched "Get Out" the other night - it was good, but made me think it was a feature length episode of Black Mirror.....
Then watched "Imperium", which wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting.
Remake of "Straw dogs" was irritating.
Currently watching Now you see me 2 - so far, nowhere near as good as the first..

I also watched this recently. I think it's a cracking little action/thriller. Certainly way better than I was expecting!
Jumped in on The Foreigner myself. It grew on me. Started a touch wooden but got a lot better. I enjoyed it. Also watched Bright. I loved it. Just a bit different and quite a take on how ridiculous race based prejudice is.... plus it had magic and magic is cool[emoji14]

Two others....Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Certainly a film to watch again- light hearted well written and well made. Will mean more to the Harry Potter afficianados... But is a good film for the less informed (me) who havent read H Potter. The other was the egypt thing that netflix are pumping at present.... Gerard butler, rufus sewell, geoffrey rush to name but a few in it. Suprisingly good once you get past the slightly over theatrical nature of the tale.
