With a recent addition of netflix i not long fell into watching Expendables 3 and Mechanic 2... both mindless visual wallpaper with lots of bullets flying. Nothing more to them. if you've seen 1 or 2 of either, you've seen these!!"Dear heart, you're talking to a man- a real man- who drinks straight Tequilla, with lime and salt on the rim, and smokes cigars" (J Zavala)

I watched Brawl in Cell Block 99 yesterday. It's the new film from the guy who directed the excellent Bone Tomahawk. The film is a bit long and the script is a little over the top in the last part but if you like violence in movies this is for you. This film has some of the most brutal fight scenes that I have seen in years (in an American film). This one is definitely not for the squeamish. And Vince Vaughn is pretty convincing in a serious role. The director's next film will be a Cop film with Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn, I'm really looking forward to it.

Well worth your time if you can handle subtitles.
I find that all the recent HK productions lack the ruthlessness of the 80's and 90's ones.
