I was discussing film with a colleague and it transpired he's not seen any of the Star Wars films. Then I thought how different they would be for him than me if he watched them in sequence instead of as they were released. It has made me even more excited about seeing the new one. I got tickets for the BFI IMAX on the 25th. NO SPOILER PLEASE [emoji851][emoji109][emoji41]

Yesterday evening - Jurassic World (2015) Thoroughly enjoyed this, definitely worth a watch. 8/10

I watched Donnie Darko for the 1st time last night. So many stars looking a lot younger in that movie!

I watched Crimson peak over the last two days. If you like Guillermo del Toro's stuff then you'll love this. It is the master at his best in a classic gothic ghost story. Jessica Chastaine is just superb as the mad sister in a tale of incest and murder set in a massive decrepit mansion. I will be buying it on blu ray.

Finally got around to watching The Imitation Game at the weekend. Amazed that Cumberbatch never got the Oscar. Then watched Redmayne in the Theory Of Everything and found out why!

I watched Bronson for the first time last night. Absolutely mental film. Tom Hardy played the part exceptionally well! Very menacing presence.

Watched 'The Loft' earlier.... Got a few interesting twists in the tale. Worth a watch if there is nowt else on.

Decided to give Anime a go last night. Something I have threatened to do for quite a few years now.
I watched Ghost in the Shell. It was OK actually. I will probably try more from this genre.

Awesome film! Also recommend anything by hayo Miyazaki, eg, spirited away. And cowboy bebop is a good series. Also akira

wouodnt bother with dubbed versions personally, subtitles are much better

Watched a few movies recently :

Sicario - Very good, gory, harrowing portrayal of how things are on the US / Mexico border with drug trafficking and the USA's complicity in the events which take place. 8/10

Star Wars The Force Awakens - Quite good. Maybe a few too many cameos / nods to characters from the past (for me) and couldn't quite get over how the heroine was 'nearly' Keira Knightley. The new villain was well played I thought (could have been Javier Bardem from No Country For Old Men). Had heard very good things about this movie and it didn't live up to the hype for me though a much better start than The Phantom Menace. 6.5/10

Just watched Spectre and got bored after an hour, it was so predictable and the escape from Blofeld's lair was almost facile, bring back Jason Bourne!
