The irony of the Crusader scenario is that Saladdin; to use his westernised name, was the civilised one and the Christians were acting like IS.

Let?s rewind a couple a couple thousand years shall we? A Pilgrimage can be described as a Jihad. So, we, the civilised people and 'West' took a ride on some horses and raped if you were lucky, killed, tortured, massacred and pillaged our way through Europe all the way to Jerusalem. What was our (the civilised West) cry before battle? Well, one of many would be God wills it. A little like Allāhu Akbar. Priests were taken to bless our troops and ABSOLVED them of any sins...Sigh.
Let?s now fast forward a couple thousand years.....The difference being horse, shields and swords have been updated to modern times. We have used Arabs as pawns for years. We weaponised them and trained them, including our once USA and European friend Osama bin Laden.
Like most things to do with a God, no matter a mans colour or creed, it is ultimately about manipulation, control and corrupting logical and scientific advancements. This is just my opinion though.
Not many can think like someone who is prepared to give their life in order to succeed.
My advice? The 'terrorists' are already here. They have slowly but surely been groomed, and their day shall come. We are the most camera caught people on the planet. Couple that with our outstanding security services and you get a high success rate, in terms of minimal impact to non fanatisists (a word.. for somebody non fanatical?)..
Whilst people are in their bunkers, read the Quran. It is a beautiful book. You will then realise what the Mullahs are doing to it in regards to the above.
They can stop a 1000 attacks, but it only takes 1 to slip through the net. It is coming. Beat them? You cannot. It is about living your life without fear. Scared of something? Then learn thy enemy.

Well put Ross but fail to point out the Jihadists are not Muslim. Same way the IRA are not Christian. Im not (that) old but grew up in Wigan and remember the M6 motorway which we lived next to being closed due to a bomb threat and my mate who was on work experience narrowly missing getting hurt in a Manchester bombing. Just pointing out that its been not as long as go as you point out VTG

My feeling is that it's a human trait to be greedy and also to desire retribution for wrong and perceived wrong against us by others. Something that can't be changed is human nature and bad men will always have a talent for using our humanity against us. Think of what a snowball we have building up, a them and us mentality, a completely human but illogical way of thinking that allows a few troubled individuals to take control of vulnerable and not so vulnerable people. I can't say that I have any message of hope but somehow I just have this feeling that one day humanity will evolve beyond this. Money, finite resources and religion make us greedy and blind. I have no doubt that money and resources will become less important one day. Religion I can't begin to understand. My grandfather is interned under a prominent cathedral as a sign of respect for giving his lifetimes service to the church, I have paid attention. I see religion, however, as a madness. I mean no disrespect to anyone least of all my grandfather but I just don't get it. If some superior being or beings created us and are content to let us behave this way, they deserve no worship or praise. This is just the way I currently view things, I'm always open to change and re education. I hope no offence is taken but if I could switch the idea of religion off right now, I would.

Wigan - You are absolutely right in so far they are not just Muslims, they are fanatical ones, and in their eyes, they are the true form...The corruption of the Quran by its preachers is incomprehensible to myself mate.
Great to see peoples ideas, opinions and questions
