If not this there will be something equally beautiful to drink. I'm just about buying faster than I drink so I'm getting a few bottles together.

Even as a limited edition decanter I'd say most of the value was in the whisky being with it. Great find mate.

Great price, the damage is fairly substantial and would probably cost too much to be worth even trying to repair.

    I got it for ?42 I think. I don't think it's fixable look:

You'd have to bring it pretty far. It could be done but I don't know where to look for someone to do it.

Great find. Is the decanter fixable? Could it be ground.

As you can see the decanter was broken so I got it cheap. It's supposed to be a collectors item so the seller saw it as ruined by the damage. I took a punt that the whisky would be good being as it is a 25 year old sherried speyside and I'm so glad I did. It tastes of wood and sherry with a smokiness in the background. I couldn't be happier with it.

Decision made. I can get a pair of good bottles on any trip to the supermarket so I'm going for a good bourbon. The staff jr or the straight from the cask. Leaving it to Mrs Tommy.

It's true, I do love it. The older version can only be richer. I had hoped for something at cask strength so I need to check that too.

I haven't had either of those bourbons but they're On my list. I say if you like Balvenie then stick with them for being good to you!

P.s. Woodford is lovely for the dosh.
