  • Whisky and Cigars

A topic that I am sure has been discussed on here before I got here but has been talked about it quite a bit just recently.

Anyone have from experience knowledge of good whisky and cigar pairings?

Anyone recommend on what they think may go well together?

Heard ASDA have deals on the 20cl bottles which I was planning on purchasing a few of over the holidays.

This is a list of what I currently have in stock cigar wise here.

Lets get our heads together on this one guys, we have a fantastic amount of knowledge on here on both these hobbies of ours so sure we can come up with some goods ones

I am turning to bourbon to pair with a Cigar, I prefer the sweetness in that particular instance. Though Glenmorangie 18 is a particular favourite with a full bodied smoke.

I like the sherried Speysides. Tonight's is a wonderful woody 25 year old (mentioned in the Ebay thread). It is very woody too and would positively make love to a fine cigar!!!

Oh and not whisky, but I found a sharp and fruity little Punch Margaritas goes great with Heradura Tequila... Hmmmm I need to do that pairing some more.

Tommy perhaps you should try the Talisker Double Amoroso cask if you like a sherry finish.

I'm really keen for this kind of recommendation at the moment. The wife wants to get me a nice bottle (under ?80) for Crimbo. I'd like to try a really nice whisky or bourbon and might as well use up the allowance I've been given. What say you?

The Macallan Sherry finish is nice but for Bourbon I'd go for something like Blanton's or Elijah Craig. Noah's Mill is supposed to be excellent too.

I was looking at Blantons straight from the cask. And also I saw a really interesting whisky called Slyrs Sherry Edition No1 aged in Pedro Ximines casks. That made me quite excited actually VI's I love that Spanish sherry but sadly I couldn't find it in the UK.

I have the Blanton's Gold which is great and wouldn't mind trying the rest of the range.

Elijah Craig is very easy drinking.
