Do not laugh too hard as Corsair are a top tier premium brand. I always have a Corsair SSD, Memory and PSU for my computer oh and the PC Case as well. The rest is mainly Republic of Gamers by ASUS as I settle for nothing but the best!

You will find that Corsair does repackage from other manufacturers as most do. Let me see who are actually making the SP2500 as a few of my PC friends are raving about it mate.

It's a good price as well at under ?170.

I have one of the original corsair all in one water coolers in my pc and it's great! Only fault is the pipes aren't flexible enough and fowl on the case side. But I digress I have no qualms over corsair but they've got there fingers in many pies and something's got to give somewhere haha

Infact I think my current SSD is also corsair although I'm not sure.

I am somewhat of a Asus fan though, and razer... I'm trying to not buy a black widow at the minute haha

The Corsair SP2500 are nothing short of beautiful from all the reviews I have just trawled through. In several areas, better than BOSE.

The real question I have for you is that for the reproduction of sound by using a speaker set such as this, will you be using a sound card? If so, what sound card exactly?

What is the thing that you will be sending the signal from to then reproduce sound from it? Hope that makes sense....And yes, your car setup was delicious! I bet the passengers got a good massage from the sub Even my little 10 incher will have the wing mirrors and main mirror rippling...The rest of the car is clad in so much wrap that it may well be classed as reinforced lol!

I have the Corsair H100i 240mm rad cooler on my Haswell. Republic of Gamers is made by Asus

Just purchased the 2014 Blackwidow Ultimate....You must buy this....I had a Q-Pad MK85 with cherry red MX keys and thought it would not be challenged...Razer certainly has done a fantastic job...Buy one...Right now! They even come in a Chroma edition so you can choose colours!!! My mouse is a R.A.T.7...Second one and will purchase a third....We digress

At the minute I'm just using the onboard sound because so far it's been more than adequate, best thing I ever did was get the realtek HD codex for it. I've contemplated a sound card a few times over the years may just buy one now. Can't remember what manufacturer it is but the card is a DS or DX that where good at a very reasonable price.

Yeah loved that system never failed and always surprised everyone haha

Mines cooling an original i7 920 (d) over clocked to 3ghz still running a solid 60c under load [emoji4]

Haha I was looking at the Anansi as I tend to play MMO's but I quite fancied a mechanical and it's membrane. Got myself a Naga and it's best bit of kit i ever bought haha!

Not trying to put Bose down, because I actually don't mind some of their products. But at this end of the spectrum they are putting out speakers encased in plastic.... the Acoustic Energies are full one piece die cast metal and are lightyears ahead in quality. Acoustic Energy are one of the most respected real HiFi brands in the industry and don't just dip in and out on a whim. I don't know anything about Corsair. But for my audio gear I buy from audio brands.

Oh and try to find the frequency response of the Bose..... you won't because they refuse to publish it. I have a little more faith in manufacturers who stand by their product by telling you everything you need to know about them.

Some good points made well there Mr Marc [emoji4] I may take you up on the offer for a loan on the Acoustic Energies [emoji4]

That last line makes it sound like one of those old Volkswagen adverts haha

Got to agree with Marc's view on the use of plastic, especially when you pick up a four foot high Japanese floor stander and it weighs about half a pound.

Did you say something special for ?300? Well I blew that budget by about ?25 by the time you add a DAC but this really would be something special. Not much Will touch the quality and clarity of these to the tune of ?300.

                          Gotta say that's very tempting...

Can get those AE's for a very good price. Especially as I'll probably have to buy a soundcard as well to make the most out of whatever I buy.

I'm off tomorrow so I'll get chance to sit down and get my head around the options

Why buy a soundcard? The DAC I linked you to has USB input.

Agree fully. There is an excellent website that rips BOSE systems apart, literally, and have been mortified on several occasions that a 5.1 system would still use card in their speakers.....Disgusting really. But hey, you are getting good advice here. My Companion 5 BOSE 2.1 is great as it is USB. Bought 5 years ago and still a stunning little system. I would not of purchased it myself, but it was a present. Before the BOSE I had a Klipsch 2.1 which was AMAZING

+1 on this. Edamski, go for the DAC linked and the AE.
