Makes you wonder how our Georgian and Victorian ancestors coped really, when all they had in their drafty stately homes were Chippendale designed cigars cabinets half the size of a double-decker bus and no humidification whatsoever. If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

It depends on the nature of the humidor. If it is a big wooden cabinet which sucks the life out of your humidification you will need the recommended above methods. If it's hermetically sealed you just need to get it to humidity then sustain it with a few Boveda's. Are we discussing a wooden purpose built humidor or something else?

Possibly Peejay, but I don't think so .... initially the tobacco was shipped to Europe to be rolled in Europe. Cubans don't store their cigars humidified they just put them in cupboards, the average humidity in Havana is around 70% and the average humidity in the UK, although we have higher peaks, is about the same.
Humidification isn't a concept it's an industry and it's arguements are those of fear. It always amuses me how we ancx and stress over a tuppenyhalfpenny tuppadore and a few cigars, but will happily leave a ?20,000 BMW out on the driveway. (I haven't got a ?20,000 BMW by the way).If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

I do think we take this too seriously.
I do think that's half the fun.
Then again we have all seen pics of cigars that have been gotton of a friend that sat on top of the kitchen cupboard or at the back of Grandads wardrobe for years and were dust when open so maybe something to it..........
