Haha James that made me laugh. Starkly contrasting is the phrase that comes to mind.
On another note, I'd like your guy to check my Chronograph out now your back and I'm not quite so poor. If I send it can you give me the verdict please?

Glad the lot of you are okay!

Fractured ankle is a shame. At least it's winter so the sports are off for a while. How long is the cast and all on for?

                      yeah... perhaps indoor soccer

ground's too hard. it feels like cement and sometimes it actually ruins the cleats if you play on frozen ground

Up in your neck of the woods maybe it's perfect for it here! One step short of being a bog with all our rain

Toronto would've gotten this ice storm if it wasn't for Lake Ontario. The frigid air hit us with -8~C weather but it warmed up to -2~C by the lake whilst collecting all of its +12~C water moisture.
The gave Buffalo around 3 metres (Yes. Metres) of snow over the duration of 2 days.

So many stories of people digging tunnels out of their houses, leaving from their second floor windows, snowshoeing to work, etc.

That's cool, I know it's probably caused lots of misery and problems but it looks spectacular. The idea of digging snow tunnels makes me feel all excited to get snowy. One year we had decent snow here I built a toboggan run in our old garden, the house was on a hill and I built it from the top of our drive all the way to the bottom of the garden. I'll try to dig out the pics and vid, it was epic. We used roasting pans as toboggans.
