  • Evoque-suitable for a bloke? (Disco Replacement)

    Morning all

Looking for some vehicular advice from some style conscious gentlemen, but I'll have to make do with you lot instead.

I'm changing my Discovery (bills and running costs creeping up), and have been very tempted by a Range Rover Evoque. Better mpg, tax and better on the road, still 4x4 can still get the spaniel in the back etc.

My main concern is purely an image one, whilst I am more than conformable with my sexuality, I am still a vain man and there are quite a few people of the opinion that the Evoque is for girls?

Now I wouldn't be having a pink one, but can anyone allay my fears, or indeed does anyone drive one-if so any comment?

    Cheers

    GT

Guy at my work has a white one with blacked out rear windows and black wheels and I'd have it like a shot and am not fucking girly!

Same as Joey, I only know women who own them. IIRC even the LR marketing for them seemed to be aimed at female buyers.

Buy one and just say your borrowing the Wife's car! (Sorry.... I'm a Ranger Rover Sport owner )

Mate I'd have an Evoque in a heartbeat. Having said that if I was buying new I'd get the new sport, it's more like the vogue in style. The Director drives the sport and the owner drives a vogue. So to sum up, if buying new the sport, if used the vogue but if more interested in a lovely looker than a big interior then Evoque. Helpful???
Seriously though I'm more of a vogue man myself but that new model sport would trump even the vogue, very elegant indeed.

Is that what you say when your pal's see you driving the sport and not the vogue

IMO the Evoque is one of the ugliest cars on the road, disgusting and clearly designed for posers.Get a Toureg and come across as an understated bloke who wants a serious car.

I like them but considering what you're using it for and having driven one I'd go for a Navarra with a box on the back.

I have to say I'd get a new disco if I'm still needing it for work and family, it's the best car for my needs. If I didn't need the space and seats combo I'd get the new sport still. Love it.

For my money a landrover should still be capable of the rough stuff and have room to be versatile. I don't believe to evoque is to me it's purely style over substance which kills any 'man points' for me.
Leave it to the posers and stick with the 'gentleman's working vehicle'

                              Get a Defender, that's a proper man's Landy.
