This thread has inspired me to try and expand my current goatee effort again. I've tried a few times before, but it just got out of control and pissed me off. But that was before I knew about beard care/control products.
My new oil and balm arrived on Tuesday, I have to say it's not as good as the Penhaligon?s but it?s ok. Not sure what to make of the balm as it is quite hard to apply compared with a wax. Might get some more, so onward!

As a starter, I think I'm gonna go for some of the Cut Throat Stanley stuff. If I have any amount of success with it, then I'll consider something more expensive like the Penhaligon's.

This was my first beard oil purchase, so i guess my judgements on it are limited at best.....however I like it, and my thinking is, that if i like this then I can only imagine how the superior products will be like.
In your opinion, do i order the balm from them or look at a different brand?
I must admit, i got suckered in by the logo!
SilentBob is quiet no more, name change to VocalBob?

I'd look for something else. IMHO the Penhaligon's is worth every penny just for the smell!
There does appear to be a strong connection between tobacco and beards...
That explains everything ... started growing mine about 2 months ago, about the same time as I started thinking I want to get into fine cigars!
Wife still not sure, but my 4 year old daughter says I'm 'as soft as a kitten', which wins the day. However, after some of the impressive beards above, not sure if I should show mine, but here goes ... (I'm in the Naval Reserve and currently on exercise.)
Been using beard oil, but daughter hates the smell, so this has been a great thread for other options / ideas.
