    Some good shops to browse.

The finest UK online pen shop: 24,000+ products at great prices. Secure ordering. Expert knowledge. Best customer service. Free UK delivery and worldwide shipping.

The UK's longest established independent fountain pen specialists. Sailor, Pelikan, Edison, Parker, Namiki, Visconti, Faber Castell, J Herbin, Clairefontaine and more

    A great source of info.

Finally, eBay is your friend... The cheap Chinese pens are often shockingly good for literally pennies on the pound.

Oh you monster, that site is awesome. So many high quality inks... So many pretty pretty pens....
When I finish this bottle of Permanent Quink I'm totally moving to that Archival ink.

Word of warning, don't start looking at notebooks...... Then you really will start to fall into a peculiar world of research and overspending.

My ink arrived at the office today... Far too expensive, but by Jove it's a gorgeous bottle! The ink itself is beautiful - my office landlord (a gallery owner), upon showing him the ink, has asked if I can stop the standing order and pay my rent by cheque!

Trickle is actually lucky enough to be the first recipient of a short letter from me in this ink! Haha.

Also bought a majestic purple by Diamine - specifically with the intent to use it for signing documents (hence the medium versus fine nib choice)...

Also, as promised, a couple of work pens:

Faber-Castell Loom at the front, then my sole ballpoint (a freebie from agricultural consultants Agrovista), and finally a couple of decent, disposable, rollerballs (they write smoothly and perfect for scribbling down notes).

This is turning out to be a good thread, albeit a bugger as I've already purchased a few more P25s off the back of it. [emoji15][emoji4]

That's the problem with talking about stuff, you end up wanting to buy more!

You guys should visit my Uncle's shop http://www.writetime.co.uk
He has a lifetimes collection of Conway Stewart, Parker, Swan, Onto and many more rare and unusual pens. He collected for years as a best egg and sells some now. Amazing to behold. Take a look, he's a wealth of knowledge.

Do love that Zenith. As a piece of memorabilia if nothing else, the nib is just so wonderfully eccentric compared to modern offerings.

Still want more of the back story from the Tiffany Mont Blanc...

Simon: that silver Mont Blanc was an eBay find. I was expecting it to go for over a grand due to the back story etc but I won it for less than ?300. The seller actually tried to back out but I got eBay involved and got the pen. I love it, its one of my most treasured possessions (if you don't count kids as possessions!). All I know is that tiffany & co bought 50 for their top execs and as gifts?...
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407929121.780486.jpgThe black Miesterstuch I have is also personalised and came in a job lot that my uncle purchased, he's not into Mont Blanc so gifted it to my Dad who gave it to me. Here it is: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407928987.219212.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1407929029.203747.jpg
I'd actually like to buy another cap barrel to remove the wording on it as its nothing with any meaning to me.
As for my uncle Barry's collection it's nothing short of amazing, the antiques roadshow pulled out of doing a piece on it as the collection was too big to catalogue properly. You should google Barry, an amazing man who I look up to very much.
Edit - Removed his full name, easy to work it out from his site I think...

Wow, you got a bargain there then! Can understand why the seller would try to back out - well done for standing your ground (the bugger probably went cheapskate by not setting a reserve... Definitely worth the cost on the very, very rare occasion I sell on eBay).

It is. One thing about me, I'm a good sharer and happy to help anyone who needs it but if you shake my hand (metaphorically or literally) then the deal is done. So basically I'm a jolly nice bastard

Would the personalisation buff off the lid? I love the look of Montblanc, I would love to try one of their fountain pens..... They are far beyond my means though.
