Has anyone here dabbled with modifying the Seiko 5's?
There appears to be a big community and lots of parts all the way to whole new cases etc. I like some of the factory stuff but as I like a play with things I could see me getting into them.

Exactly, trading up each time. I went from ?50 at the starts to the Datora which I sold for ?3995. It took two years but that was mainly because I wore the ones I liked for a while. Some were hard to let go.

I can get at least 20% off new or if it was me I'd look for a pre owned old model. ( old version has Eta based movement so any good watchmaker can service it) the later BO1 caliber can only be done by Breitling at around ?350 a time.
I paid under ?2k for mine.
