I feel your pain...
Don't know if this will make you feel any better, but my 5 year old has destroyed a fair bit over the past 3 years - and her little brother's starting to help too:
Beach tent
28" wide screen TV (was my pride and joy)
Pioneer DVD player (my second pride and joy - 800 quid's worth!)
A wall
The inside of my caravelle - lovely dents, scrapes and scratches
The outside of my van - wrote her name on it. With a stone.
Those are the more memorable.....
I have a couple of floor standing speakers for my av set up, which have escaped thus far...
I have a spare set of tannoy book shelf speakers if you need something to tide you over? (they came with the fronts and centre, but I have nowhere to put them!)...
Guttered for you mate i remember when my threw my iphone 4 and popped the screen. Your so mad but cant stay mad for long when you look at there cute faces
Marc, put a picture up of the actual damage please. I ha a similar issue a long while back and managed to pull the tweeter back into a useable shape by using some very sticky tape. Worth a shot unless there is an physical tear.
Ok, will get a picture later.

What a shame. Will have a look also when I get the chance.
if you replace the part you need, any chance of putting the speakers up high on the wall?
Unfortunately not, they are floor standing speakers. They live in the bedroom so I had hoped they would be safe from the kids! but the three year old evidently goes in there when were not aware of it.

Perhaps this can turn into a "What our kids have destroyed" thread? As a warning to others.
In the last month mine also destroyed our laptop by knocking it on the floor and now it won't turn on..... And not a child but last week the Mrs was sat there nicely doing her nails.... A couple hours later and I came back to find that in her own little world she had stacked up her nail polish remover soaked cotton wool balls in a neat pile on my ACRYLIC ProJect turntable platter!...... Yeah, it wasn't a pretty sight... It got melted.
Not a good time for Marc's HiFi that's for sure...... I think I might just try and get by until the youngest is 13 or so and n the mean time try and save save ?50 a month or something.... 12 years at ?50 a month - ?7200.... Should buy me some nice stuff. Long time to wait though.

My lad destroyed our laptop my old iphone 4 put nail clippers over the screen on the tv. Kids for ye hey. Hes also when had a cob on banged the doors and put holes in the wall with the door handles drew all the walls which i have since repainted and he done it again so thats something to do again.
Well it 11pm and I just got home from work..... Sadly my three year old has ripped the grill of one of my speakers and stuck his finger so far into the tweeter that it's fooked.
I've had the same thing happen to me with a pair of B&W DM601's that had been out of production for 10 years. I rang B&W directly and they had a spare at the factory.
I'd definitely get on the phone/e-mail to KEF directly and see if they have one - all manufacturers produce extra parts for warranty repairs and they could well have one knocking around.

Bingo, just did exactly this.... They were excellent, they literally went into the workshop to look around and found one!
I'm so happy, money that I didn't really want to be spending but given that music is so important and that they are my pride and joy it's not even a consideration wether I was going to do it or not.
The other thing I had done was set up an eBay search for every model they ever made with that tweeter unit and I was going to wait for a pair with one broken speaker etc. to pop up for cheap.... I'm not going to have to do that now as I will have the part tomorrow hopefully!
They even told me how to do the replacement myself, just some screws and two points of solder (Herf Mo? Lol) and just being careful when inserting the new one not to inadvertently do the same thing while pushing it in.
Looks like I'm back in business!

Good stuff! Now don't forget to buy a lock for the bedroom door as well!
