Rush. A great little Canadian trio. Bassist sings (or screeches).
I always thought their popularity over here was due to the fact that Canadian radio stations have to play 35% Canadian music. And that only Canadians listened to them as they're passed down a generation. But i learned the other day that many other people in other countries love Rush too.
I then learned that they're not just regular radio rock mixed with Styx. They're actually very, very hard to work out and follow on bass. He can sing and play VERY well. But the human mind has never been able to multitask. And when he plays his solos or accompaniments without singing, man are they beautiful.
Red Barchetta is probably my favourite track from my favourite album from them.
My only regret is not acknowledging this earlier. Missed out on their 'Moving Pictures' tour where they played this entire album live. 80 dollars for a surreal experience and damn i missed it.
Before cigars, music concerts were my hobby. Should get back into that, now...........
Anyways, if anyone has 40 minutes to spare, sit down with a glass of your chosen liquor and just admire this album.
Having one of the Drumming GOD's in you line up isn't going to harm anything either.
Ah yes! I always forget people who beat dead pigs were a vital part of the band. Probably due to lack of notice as I do most of the fretting here, too.
I do enjoy a bit of Rush, one little victory being a favourite of mine. Friend of mine is really into them don't you worry they're well liked elsewhere [emoji4]
