You may think that I am absolutely mental but at the minute I have a thing for old sea shanties, this is by a chap called David Coffin at the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival.
Give it a listen and see what you think.

Been a while since I got back into this thread.
A few classics in the past little bit. But recently (past 3 days), I've been getting into the angstlich 2000s altern-rock. This sort of childish will to survive spawned two fantastic albums from two fantastic bands.
Greenday is shit now. But man were these guys good back in this album. This and Dookie:
(Green Day?)

My Chemical Romance was shunned by most people as the crowd was kinda annoying. The crowd that followed MCR everywhere they go were all 8-14 year old girls who were rebellious to know they were rebels but not smart enough to do it well.
Anyway, this band was fantastic despite their crowds. Wish I knew this earlier. Their mild experimentation is what gets me:

I honestly don't mind them that much. All things considered, I don't really hate artists (except Sloan. Fuck Sloan). But I can acknowledge when a band is shite and when a band is good. AC/DC is a terrible, repetative, simple-minded band that I will love until the day I die.
Anyway. Most people do like MCR. That's the sad part and how they didn't get as much attention as they so surely deserved...Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

Taylor Swift - Fearless.
She was much less autotuned back then, too. Not particularly a good singer in this album.
I really enjoy how she incorporates the banjo in most of her songs. It's really enjoyable and spread out... Not many modern country bands do it as well as she was able to before.
I don't know who wrote her music and I barely care. But it's pretty damn well constructed as a modern country album. Especially in comparison to Miranda Lambert, her early country works were incredible for such a young artist.
She just has that 'Kristofferson twang' that I look for in most country albums.
