A couple of the guys I shoot with know a guy called Mark Stretton who sometimes shoots with a 200lb bow.... As far as I know he is the only man ever recorded that can draw the bow to actually shoot with, I think he's in the Guinness world records for it.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

Here he is... I don't know if that's his 200lb bow though. But to put it into perspective, if you hung the bow horizontal it would take a 14 1/2 stone man hanging on the sting with his full body weight to pull the bow into that shape.... and he has to maintain perfect posture and technique while exerting that force.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

If you talk to ANY Bowyer in the world though they will tell you that Roy King is the only reason we know so much about English longbows, everything came from his reconstructions of the Mary Rose bows, it was a great loss when Roy passed away.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14
