I'm sure spraying them doesn't do any harm, obviously JJF have the walk in humidor as well and I'm sure they know enough about cigars not to damage them, it just seems strange that they sprayed water directly onto a cigar for VTG.

If I remember correctly I think the first time I went there they said that spraying the distilled water will keep the cigar properly humidified for about a month
Don't get me wrong, I definitely bow down to their superior knowledge over my instinct alone but it seems to me that if you hydrate a cigar too quickly it could easily split its wrapper. If they've been doing it without problems it must be ok. It just feels so wrong to me.

This, plus a soggy stick doesn't seem appealing.

Yes, usually getting a soggy stick is a good thing but in this instance.....

Depends. If I'm smoking it I don't want soggy , if I'm sticking it up my ass, as someone suggested, soggy might be more comfortable.

You line em up, I knock em down!

Randomly reminded me of work. We had a medical student passing a catheter for an old boy the other day and as he was cleaning the patient's cock to insert it the old bigger looked him straight in the eye and asked him 'Is this what you call hands on experience?'

Had to give it five minutes until we all stopped laughing.

Perhaps one of our cigar shop owner/worker members can pipe up on the matter? Possibly they have received training relating to the practice.
Hi everyone, hope you're having a good Friday,

My thoughts are as follows, I have seen cigar merchants doing this but I don’t think its sensible as you are potentially putting way to much humidity in too small a container and the cigars are likely to rapidly become over humidified.

If cigars are stored correctly by the cigar merchant they should be in perfect condition and they are not likely to dry out instantly!

If longer term portable storage is required a pouch with a Boveda or a humipouch is a much better solution and of course the water does not come into direct contact with the cigars.

                          Hope that helps,

                          James

Thanks James, that's pretty much what I was thinking without knowing for sure. I guess at their price point they don't wanna include a Boveda.
