So today i had such a mare of a day the new sofa came after 12 weeks of anticipation the day came.

Delivery call came at half 11 to say there on there way. It was finally here :-) we were made up. So went down stairs met the fellas and gave them a touch puffy and chair came up no problem.

Then came the mission that was the 4 seater couch. Not a problem i thought we have a big delivery lift. WAS I WRONG.

15 mins trying to get it to no joy thoughts was then looming over me of having to carry a couch 8 floors to our apartment. In the end we opened the zip on the underside of the couch to find a spanner included with it. So what we then had to do was start to dismantle it and take the 2 arms off. Finally 30 mins after the 4 seater coming off wagon we had it up the 8th floor.

Off the lift we got to find we couldn't then get the swing to get the couch through the corridor which resulted in tools out this time screwdriver to take the feet off.

BINGO WERE IN.

assembly done am now relaxing on my new couch with a beer posting this

I remember when we got our sofa delivered - the delivery men refused to take it up the stairs, saying it was impossible so left it outside, and then my wife and I got it upstairs in about two minutes, it was the most ridiculous delivery I've ever experienced - and I had to pay for it!

Never get anything delivered from Ikea!

Years ago I worked for Tempo, we delivered an American style fridge to a house once and it was clear it was never going through the front door. The guy asked us to try the back door and it was equally not going through that either. He asked if we'd had lunch yet, which we hadn't so he gave us ?20 and told us to go grab a bite and come back. So off we trot and have a burger, when we came back the guy had removed the door and taken a sledge hammer to the frame and wall! We couldn't believe it! We got it in, I guess the bloke really, really wanted his fridge.
