  • Come Dine with Me

Seeing as I have finally got a proper day off work no pub or golf club to attend to and the weather has decided to be crap and cold I gave managed to refrain from having a cigar so far and turned my attention to cooking dinner for the wife and family tonight I decided on tapas which I am in the middle of preparing
    Some Calamari

    Chorizo Al Vino

    Gambians Pil Pil

Various kebabs Halloumi with Cherry Tomatoes and chorizo

    Chicken with chorizo

    And some pork with peppers

Not forgetting the olives and stuffed vine leaves and some lovely olive bread Mediterranean bread and oil and balsamic

Will try and wash this down with an old bottle of 1969 Bordeaux

And a few smokes starting pre dinner later afternoon with the monte Joyitas 98

Come dine with me and post your dinner and wine :-)

To start the Monte Joyita 98 with the last of a bottle Muscadet Sur Lie 2013 crisp and dry and a good match for the Joyitas

It looks fantastic - but you do realise you give the rest of us a bad name.
I'm sure there are greater things in life than a fine cigar ........... but right now I can't think what they might be.

Great evening planned Martyn, was the '69 washed out or still a little flav in there? Shame it wasn't Haut Brion!

Simon only just been opened ready to decant for later

Got some nice dessert wine in the fridge and may just make another dent in the Hine cognac or the Dalmore Cigar Malt

Currently burning my fingers on the Joyitas

Just decanted the Bordeaux it's drinkable and will be fine with tapas but very tired and lacks fruit

Very nice, I couldn't think of a nicer family meal. I have a bottle of port from 1976 that I keep meaning to drink. I can tell its lost nearly all if its colour but that's not necessarily bad, it's probably taken the hue of an old tawny with a tinge of red.
Enjoy your tapas and Bordeaux. Sixty nine dude!!!
