Fellow Members, Please find the attached acknowledgement I received this morning from Combat Stress, thanking us for the ?400 we raised this year at the Herf Auction. This means not only did we raise a record sum but when combined with 2013: ?310 & 2012: ?354, we have raised a total of ?1,064. Many thanks to all of you that have particpated over the last three years
Although raising money for charity is not one of this groups aims per se, but I do feel that as we look inwards & over analyse the various flav's & shades of a certian brown leaf, it does us good to take a moment to look outwards & as we indulge in our rather expensive hobby, give a wee hand to those less fortunate. Particularly in this case, giving to those who served their country & tried to protect the few rights we have left, that our recent Governments haven't already given away to Brussels.
So take a pat on the back gents & if you weren't at the herf & therfore unable to participate this year, I have quite a few well aged & rare sticks to put up for auction on the site next year. Which will be open to all that have PM status, so get posting you lurkers!

Dear Mr Dove.
Thank you for your e-mail regarding your donation.
We would like to thank you and the UK Cigar Forum very much for your donation of ?400 in support of Combat Stress.
We are happy to clarify that this amount has reached us.
Since we were founded, in 1919, we have provided a vital lifeline to around 100,000 ex-Service men and women with psychological injuries. Combat Stress saw a 10% increase in the demand for our services last year, resulting in our treatment centres working at maximum capacity. With continued deployments in Afghanistan, and potentially significant numbers of Service men and women returning from Iraq with psychological injuries, demand for our specialist treatment and support is at an all time high.
Your gift will go straight to work where it is needed most, so that together, we can provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in contact
Once again, thank you so much.
Kind regards
Emma Nelson
