Im afraid this sort of theft goes on too much especially at Xmas, no scruples. A postie near me dumped an entire bag of post as he was fed up with the job and narrowly escaped jail. Evrything we send has to be tracked nowadays. I hope you get some answers.All the best.

Hey Marc told you so! The postman has changed his story and is trying to say he delivered it today.

I'm not saying he didn't do it (it's still yet to be proven). His story can't really change, there is either an electronic signature or there isn't.

What I am saying though is, that until an investigation is conducted and evidence is gathered its wrong to openly accuse someone.

The IPCC, to some degree. I'm my experience many facets of the Police need to remember that they are there by consent of the public.

Openly published suspicion is only a small step from accusation.

I think the postman thought it contained jewellery or similar and had it away himself.

His signing device would most likely be encrypted and time/date recorded perhaps even wirelessly updated... At least I would hope Royal Mail wouldn't be stupid enough to open themselves up to such obvious technical loopholes.

My real point is that, the way the internet is these days... Small things can be quickly blown out of hand, for all we know the guy is an honest hard working man who relies on his income to keep a roof over his families head.... He might be a scummy toe rag... We simply don't know.

As I'm sure your well aware, Police Officers are more vulnerable than most to potentially slanderous/libellous words. I have seen a Police career ended because of the fallout from a throw away accusation.... It was one too many.

The report has been made and hopefully Royal Mail conduct a thorough and fair investigation and the incident can be brought to a satisfactory resolution for you and Sean.

According to Sean the delivery date has been changed to today. He must have got that from track and trace. I can't do that from work. No names have been named.
