The 2nd May was the anniversary of the Belgrano sinking. On the 4th, as we feared would happen, we suffered our first loss: HMS Sheffield, known as 'The Shiny Sheff'. The Chairman of hte Antwerp RBL joined the same month I did & as a Sheffield survivor he told me some of the things that happened that day, that you don't read about in books. I just saw this pic of FB & thought that instead of just reminding you 20 good men lost their lives that day, defendig the Islanders right to self determnation, you'd like to know their names. If you read through them, I think it makes more of an impact. They might just be statistics today to some but they were mates to their crew, loved ones to their families & oppos to the rest of us.
