this is produced in other species separate (most of the time) from the ones we grow and smoke. And curing them normally gets rid of certain traits to them. honestly, in botany, things are so damn strange that i wouldn't trust something until i see 5 papers on them with consequentially concurring data.Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

It appears to be a little known gene in the flower of a specific genus of nicotiana.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14

Just a note (Ed made me think of this):
Tobacco smoke doesn't cause more cancer than the barbie or campfires or even fucking huge amount of incense. It's just the fact that you're drawing huge amounts of the high temperature stuff into your mouth or lungs is where it really differs. When you grill stuff on the barbie, sometimes it's even worse when you get it in your eyes and everything.
The tobacco that causes cancer (that is colloquially referred to) is the ones mixed with toluene, ammonia, and all this other shit (sometimes, literally! ) that causes cancer. I hear even plutonium makes it into the fertiliser and pesticide feed sometimes.
But honestly, we have subway stations here that buses go into. and those days (1 in 7) that the fans don't work are damaging to my eyes, ears, lungs, nose, mouth, prostate, kidneys, etc etc etc. but i rarely hear campaigns on that shit. spending 15 minutes standing in that station is probably worse than any filtered cigar lounge for 2 hours........Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

It's polonium, tobacco concentrates it. The best soils have already concentrated it too. So a double whammy.

but upon googling it, turns out each cigarette gives you 0.4 picocuries... fucking great. that's negligible. that radioactive bombardment is less than what they insert into your bloodstream to search for shit. it's less than the background radiation in Japan.
and it certainly won't be causing more cancer than the smoke will.....Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly
