Don't know if anyone follows the annual ruckas that is the Army & Navy Rugby match at Twickers? But this year I'll be watching for the first time since I left the mob. Reason, an ex-colleague of mine is generous to a fault. Despite being ex RAMC we always got on (well you have have been out as long as we have it just ex-service against the civvies), last month he offered me a job on 80K inc bonuses. Unfortuantely I had to turn it down as it was 28days on - 28 off & the wife wouldn't have it. I did mention it was more money but she was certian that she'd rather have me on 14 on 14off, 14 on 28 off, which I thought was rather touching. Later my daughter told her how much extra it was & she had the nerve to say, well perhaps we could have considered it. Think she just saw it as a chance to stop working, in which case we wouldn't have been any better off. Lots of duty free smokes though.
Anyway yestday on the mail chopper, I got an unexpected parcel from Fleabay. Now I do buy the odd item (well have been trying to cut down) but I really couldn't remember ordering this shirt. Then someone mentioned Martyn had asked for our new address & the penny dropped. Martyn goes to the game every yr that he's home so it made sense he was the mysterious sender. After posting this pic on FB last night , he 'fessed up. Brilliant. Now just have to find a suitable gift to retalite with, I have one idea. He just brought an RAMC bowtie but it's a self tied. I pointed out in an RN mess he'd get fined a bottle of port when someone called him on it. I'll try & track down a proper tie yourself version & send with some bubbly if they win or a beer if they loose2014.04.04.SAM_4510.jpg
